Default Monk/Sin Solo Great Battle Field, Bone Pits and more

Hey Mates
This is my first guide for monks, i was a little bit bored from playing my mesmer all the time and dedusted my monk. While i played with 55hp and 600hp and everything else that includes Prot Spirit, i wanted to try out other farming possibilities and here are the results.

Great Battle Field

[skill]Shadow of Haste[/skill][skill]shadow form[/skill][skill]death's charge[/skill][skill]Caltrops[/skill][skill]balthazar's aura[/skill][skill]Symbol of Wrath[/skill][skill]Kirin's Wrath[/skill][skill]Dark Escape[/skill]
16 Smiting Prayers 12 Shadow Arts

Equipment:
+5e +20%ench Casterweapon
any Smiting Offhand
+Energy Insignias

Enter the FoW in Normal Mode and run the way you see on the screenshot (make sure Rastigan doesn't get any aggro).

There will be a group of 2 Shadow Eles and one Mesmer and a group Of Skeletons behind them. Use Death's Charge to the Shadow Enemy that's next to the Skeletons and cast Shadow Form after it. Then run away with Death's Charge (they will fight themselves most of the time but don't worry, there are enogh enemys to farm )

Now the fun part begins. Watch the groups for 2-3 minutes and you'll notice that they ball up after a certain amount of time.
Activate Shadow of Haste b4 they do it and keep near the aggro radius of one enemy. As soon as they seem to ball, use Shadowform and Death's Charge.

Now we use Caltrops->Balth's->Symbol->Kirin's
If you did everything right they should be dead within seconds.
Kill all of the Skeleton's but leave the Ranger Popups, who lay painful trapps

I also recommand to bring a few keys, since you can do a little "chestrun" after you farmed all of this.

Also i created this for fun mainly, the dropps could be worse

-------------------------

The Bone Pits:

[skill]Shadow of Haste[/skill][skill]shadow form[/skill][skill]death's charge[/skill][skill]balthazar's aura[/skill][skill]Symbol of Wrath[/skill][skill]Kirin's Wrath[/skill][skill]Dark Escape[/skill][skill]Dash[/skill]
16 Smiting Prayers 12 Shadow Arts

Equipment:
+5e +20%ench Casterweapon; a Casterweapon without the +5 energy.
any Smiting Offhand
+Energy Insignias

Enter the Underworld in Normal Mode, take the first quest and move to the point you see at the screen.

Activate Shadow of Haste and wait until 2 groups of graspings are balled together on the left side.

Lure them down to the left side of the stairs. Here they won't run away. The Damage is just enough to finish of the graspings. Use Dash or Dark Escape b4 shadow form runs out.

Repeat this from the left Stairs to the right stairs to kill the last group.

Now start running right as you might know from "smiterruns", but keep heading right over the bridge to the entrance of the mountains. Run through them, if you do everything right you won't aggro one charged blackness on the run.

After you've reached the Chaos Planes and take a look at the entrance of the bone pits you'll see a Dreamrider, which stands quite near. Just activate Shadow of Haste, followed by Shadow Form and run past him and kill the first group of the Necros.

After the first area is clean, lure the dreamrider without Shadowform and use Shadow of Haste once you aggroed him. Lure him away from the entrance and use another stance to cancel Shadow of Haste and break aggro.
After this the area is just easy (as long as your ping is better than mine, i died at the 4th group because i missed the end of shadow form with my 1,5k ping)

I will go back there, take some screenshots and see, how ecto dropps are in bone pits.

You legend, if i unlock /sin for my monk and get the skills i will certainly try this, when you say the drops could be better to me 2shards and a scroll is fairly good as its 3-4k (last time i checked) and a free entry.

How do you think of these things?

The only downfall is having to keep re-aggroing the aatxes (I assume you kill them?) to finish them off...

I'm going to assume your using the smite skills against undead creatures for the double damage, but here is my question. Does E/A deal more damage, or is the Mo/A unparalleled with the double armor ignoring damage?

I think if you were to use an ele variant for this build, you can drop caltrops and all the monk skills for...

Meteor shower
Bead of Coals
Inferno
Fire Attune

The problem with this is, the energy to use all the needed skills is over 70 and doesn't seem practical since MS has such a long recharge thus causing longer runs...

So Raptor farming is impractical? Basically the same skill bar for it, and eles do fine. I think you can take out Inferno for Flame Djinn's, and put in a Firestorm, and your good, Fire Attune and your natural regen deals with the energy.

you can kill the aatxes? i never bothered trying...

i got the skills together for the build, and gave it a go on my monk - it worked damn well in UW, but i still need to get used to it, especially the new pulling method with Shadow of Haste. i think this will be really nice for mah ecto count, as well as my shard count. looking forward to mastering it.

also, ever considered Light of Deldrimor, for those monks with decent rank in Delver? i suppose Mindbender could work as well - i like the build the way it is, because my monk isn't too far on any title tracks.

Pretty unique build, definately a nifty idea, don't think anyone ever actually thought of using all those AoE Smite skills together to farm. Only thing is, the short duration of SF is kind of sketchy, especially in UW. But it would definatley be a major killer for undead farming for sure... I am sure it will work on a few other farming areas also... but just a question, is it only for NM? guessing HM monsters would flee away too quickly even with crippling... if mainly NM, than definately FoW and UW is where it is at.

Could possibly use it for farm Torment Gemstones too... couldn't see why not, should be enough damage, I think.

Definately possible to farm those two groups in Torment, only thing is, you can't kill them with the original skill set, even with max LB title. I am using a similar build on my sin, but switched out deaths charge for LB Gaze, and Caltrops for Snowstorm. I have max LB and Dwarven titles so that helps... also make sure you put on your LB title to get the extra damage.

[build prof=A/Mo shadowarts=12+3+1 smiting=12][shadow of haste][shadow form][lightbringer's gaze][balthazar's aura][snow storm][symbol of wrath][kirin's wrath][dark escape][/build]

*Insightfull Staff of Enchanting, with +5^50 Hale N Hearty inscription
